From March 13 to 16, 2025, the Brussels Book Fair will be taking over our capital city, with a rich program of events on the theme of “Living in the World”. For four days, authors, publishers and literary enthusiasts come together to exchange ideas, debate and celebrate books in all their forms. With conferences, workshops and themed areas, this free event is one of Belgium’s major cultural rendezvous. We tell you all about it!
A rich and varied program

With over 300 activities planned, the Brussels Book Fair is aimed at all audiences. Conferences, debates and professional meetings will address contemporary issues in books and publishing. Children’s literature will take center stage, with days dedicated to teachers and librarians. And don’t miss the Family Village, a new area offering readings and activities for the very young.
A window on German-language literature

This year, in partnership with the Frankfurt Book Fair, the Fair will be showcasing German-language literature. A 100 m² pavilion will bring together publishers from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and other German-speaking countries. Authors such as Nino Haratischwili and Bernhard Schlink will take part in exceptional encounters, offering a unique insight into the diversity of German-language literature.
Themed areas for all tastes

The diversity of literary genres will also be in the spotlight, with dedicated areas. For example, the Manga Quarter, which is expanding this year. The Polar Quarter, which is making a comeback, and the Romance Corner, a new feature for romance fans. Place de l’Europe will also feature debates on major European social and cultural issues.
A commitment to accessible reading

Since 2016, the Brussels Book Fair has been a free event, bringing together over 75,000 visitors every year. The “Objectif Lire” program continues its commitment to inclusion, with initiatives designed to bring books closer to those who are far from them. Finally, on Saturday March 15, from 7pm to 1am, the festivities continue with the “Foire du Livre Party”! It’s a festive evening combining music, gastronomy and literature. On the program: street food, DJ sets and informal encounters with authors and enthusiasts. A unique way to extend the book festival!
