Creamy, light, and incredibly refreshing, frozen yogurt has become one of summer’s star desserts. The good news: you don’t need an ice cream maker or complicated ingredients to make it at home. In just a few minutes, you’ll have a creamy frozen treat that you can customize to your liking with fresh fruit, granola, or a drizzle of honey.
The Recipe
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 500 g plain Greek yogurt
- 250 g frozen berries (or mango, peaches, raspberries, depending on the season)
- 2 to 3 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
For the topping:
- Fresh fruit
- Granola
- Chopped pistachios
- Shredded coconut
- Honey or red berry coulis
Preparation
- Place the frozen fruit, Greek yogurt, honey, and vanilla in a blender.
- Blend for one to two minutes until the mixture is smooth, thick, and creamy.
- Enjoy immediately for a soft-serve ice cream-like consistency, or let it sit in the freezer for 30 to 45 minutes for a firmer texture.
- Divide among bowls, then add the toppings of your choice just before serving.
Tip: For an even more indulgent version, replace some of the fruit with frozen banana. It adds a particularly creamy texture without the need for cream.
