Great news for the people of Brussels! It’s the perfect time to (re)discover Forest Park. After three years of renovation work, this emblematic green haven of Brussels has undergone a veritable metamorphosis. New paths, restored period furniture, a playground, terraces, a drinking fountain… everything has been designed for strolling, relaxing or picnicking in the sun. This summer, no more excuses: the park awaits you, more welcoming than ever!
Vintage decor for your summer strolls
Imagine winding paths lined with century-old trees, cast-iron benches in the shade, an old cottage brought back to life… Forest Park, a listed jewel in the south of Brussels, has just reopened after a spectacular renovation. Strollers will be able to rediscover the elegance of the 50s, with paths redesigned on the basis of historic plans, carefully restored furniture and even refurbished awnings. A charming setting for a summer stroll.
A perfect spot for chilling out, playing games or reading a book.

No longer just a park, it’s an invitation to take your time. Just a stone’s throw from the town center, you can climb gently up to the hillock on a spiral path… Or relax on a terrace around the newly renovated chalet, let the kids play on the new playground or simply enjoy the peace and quiet on the fresh grass. Between the public toilets, the drinking water fountain and the catering area, there’s everything you need for a relaxing afternoon.
It’s the perfect place to relax with friends or family, or to enjoy a special event. Nearby, you can also visit Forest Abbey, a neo-classical jewel surrounded by greenery (don’t miss the annual Forest Sounds Festival.
Fresh, natural and ingenious

Beneath its bucolic exterior, the park also conceals a veritable feat of green engineering. To better manage rainwater, two natural infiltration zones have been created, one of which has been transformed into a green theater. The result: greener lawns, less flooding and a water mirror that catches the light at the end of the day. With an investment of 10 million euros, this Beliris-supported project not only restores the park to its former glory, but also gives it a real boost for the future. In short, a piece of nature right in the heart of the city, and one you’ll want to put on your bucket list this summer!
And it’s not the only new park in Brussels at the moment. The Parc du Cinquantenaire, also under renovation, will be ready to celebrate Belgium’s 200th anniversary in 2030. Finally, the Parc du Tenbosch, in Ixelles, with its 400 rare plant species, has just been classified by the Brussels-Capital Region.
