The botanical treasures of the Serres Royales de Laeken
Built in the 19th century under the reign of King Leopold II, the Serres Royales de Laeken are the fruit of an ambitious vision to create a botanical paradise in the heart of the city. In a neo-classical and art nouveau style, they transport you to a world where lush greenery thrives in a true architectural feat!
The greenhouses are home to an incredible diversity of subtropical and exotic plants from the four corners of the globe. From imposing palms to delicate orchids and ferns, every nook and cranny of the greenhouses offers a new botanical marvel to discover…
Discovering the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken begins with a stroll through the gardens of the Royal Estate. This walk allows you to appreciate the splendid architecture of the greenhouses from the outside. You’ll then have the chance to explore some exceptional sites, such as the remains of a temple next to a pond, or the rose-adorned arch. Once you’ve completed this outdoor tour, you can head inside the greenhouses.
