We all know the name Waterloo, but few imagine visiting it amidst ghosts. From October 17 to November 1, 2026, during the All Saints’ Day school break, the Hougoumont Farm—one of the most significant sites of the battle—takes on a mysterious atmosphere. Soldiers are setting up camp there, strange figures are lurking within its walls, and a mystery awaits families in the courtyard.
When the soldiers leave their camp to make themselves at home at the farm

Usually, the soldiers camp at the foot of the Butte du Lion. For this occasion, they pack up and set up camp at Hougoumont. The farm has been decorated for the event and takes on an unusual, more mysterious, and somewhat unsettling atmosphere—as if the walls still had stories to tell! Visitors wander through the site, encountering various characters from 1815 who recount their daily lives, share stories and anecdotes about the area, and watch cannon-firing demonstrations—which, even without a battle, make quite an impression on the younger visitors. The idea isn’t to hold an open-air history lesson, but to let everyone move at their own pace, looking, listening, and asking questions.
A message lost since 1815 to be found, clue by clue

In Hougoumont, something isn’t quite right. A message, lost since 1815, is still waiting to be found. To piece it together, families must explore the farm, observe their surroundings, solve puzzles, and follow in the footsteps of those who left their mark on these walls. A mystery game that invites you to see the place in a new light, with ghosts serving as a guiding thread to reveal what really happened there!
