After the Cité Ardente, it’s the Ville du Diamant that has the honor of hosting this audiovisual nugget. Soon, Antwerp’s DIVE (Digital and Interactive Theater) will be showcased in Monet: The Immersive Experience, a 360-degree exhibition combining interactive sets, video mapping projections, virtual reality… Everything you need to immerse yourself in the flowery world of this major figure of Impressionism. Tickets are now available.
Monet: The Immersive Experience
Claude Monet’s timeless work has the power to transport anyone who admires it to a unique bucolic universe: his gardens at Giverny. With their Norman clos, water garden, Japanese bridge and wisteria, they represent his primary source of inspiration.
Good news: visitors now have the opportunity to discover them, too, in a cultural installation never before seen in Belgium. Monet: The Immersive Experience opens the doors to the painter’s gardens in a multi-sensory experience with a springtime decor to match. From wall to floor, DIVE Antwerp is bathed in the light of Claude Monet’s work.
An original digital device
The exhibition/experience is organized by Exhibition Hub – creators of Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience – and provides an opportunity to discover Monet’s work in a 2.0 version.
A perfect blend of art and technology, thanks to a device combining video-mapping projections and virtual reality, it allows visitors to cross the Japanese bridge while watching the water lilies and their reflection in the pond, to observe the waltz of the Japanese fish, to capture the light of dawn, to lose themselves in fields of poppies… All without leavingAntwerp.
This contemplative experience also invites participants to try their hand at Impressionist technique. Dotted lines, jerky brushstrokes of all colors juxtaposed… Budding artists have the opportunity to put theory into practice by creating their own work of art.
