The Maison Pelgrims: a living heritage in Saint-Gilles
Ever since it was built in 1905 by Adolphe Pirenne, the Maison Pelgrims has been captivating visitors with its facade blending brick, stone and historic ornamentation. Its renovation, completed in September 2025, has restored the original charm of the place! The oak staircase, bluish stained glass windows, winter garden cupola and gilded salon invite contemplation. Every detail, from the mosaics to the furnishings, takes visitors on a journey back in time. Since 2001, the building has been listed as a historic monument, proof of its architectural and heritage value.
Over the years, the Maison Pelgrims has welcomed industrialists, artists and craftsmen. Today, this unique venue offers spaces for exhibitions, shows and concerts. Architecture lovers can explore the Pierre Paulus park, once a private garden, now open to all and classified as a public site.
La Maison des artistes: a center for cultural events
Behind its walls, the Maison Pelgrims has become the “Maison des artistes“. Exhibitions of paintings, photographs, sculptures and installations are held here throughout the year, alongside small concerts, workshops and lectures. The recent reopening inaugurates a new cultural season in which local and international artists come together.
Its doors are open to diversity and creativity, but above all to a desire to share. Don’t wait any longer, explore Maison Pelgrims and let yourself be surprised by its cultural agenda!
