Mudia, a different kind of museum
Mudia, Redu’s didactic art museum, was created with the noble aim of making art accessible to all. Based on the observation that young people are bored by museums, its founder decided to create a museum in which play is above all else. Interacting with the various interactive terminals, visitors become actors in their visit, appropriating the cultural heritage of the greatest names in painting, drawing, sculpture, comics, photography and animated film.
Seeing, touching, listening and projecting are all actions that visitors are encouraged to perform during this unique visit. Active, rather than passive as in most museums, they enjoy interacting with paintings by the great Flemish, Expressionist, Cubist and Venetian masters. Brueghel, Klimt, Kandinsky, Munch, Picasso, Rodin, Veronese…
Visitors rub shoulders with the greatest artists, modelling for them, creating a painting with them using a dot gun, brushing their fingers against characters on a tablet and bringing them to life in 3D. Through 60 animations distributed over 20 rooms and several floors, visitors can immerse themselves in the universe of 50 artistic currents. It’s the perfect way to immerse yourself in the fascinating history of art, in a way that’s both entertaining and educational.
