Whether you’re a Muggle or aHarry Potterbuff, we’ve zeroed in on THE parody of the year. Get on your Nimbus 2000, it’s happening at VIAGE. The Potted Potter program includes 70 minutes of pure delirium in the magical world of Harry Potter, an inventive parody that revisits the entire saga (all 7 volumes) and a Quidditch match at its best. In short, it’s zany, reference-saturated and hilarious, and the proof is in the pudding: the comedy has already scooped up nominations at the Olivier Awards for best British play. Nothing less!
⚡Therun is lightning fast: it starts on December 13 and ends on January 11!⚡

Potted Potter or the year’s most gossipy parody
Lovers of laughter, magic, winks and, above all, humor, take off your hat and open your ears wide: the cult parody Potted Potter will soon be setting up shop in Brussels, at VIAGE, Brussels’ entertainment mecca.
The concept is completely mad: condense all seven Harry Potter volumes + a Quidditch match into 70 minutes, with just two actors on stage, a bevy of costumes, improbable props, a fire-breathing dragon and gags galore. Dan & Jeff (Daniel Clarkson & Jefferson Turner) take up the challenge with flying colors …

On stage, characters change in a flash: Harry, Hermione, Dumbledore, “the one whose name must not be spoken”, all cross-dressed, caricatured, bullied. The characters take a malicious pleasure in playing with clichés – there’s plenty of material in the dense universe of Rowling’s novels -, the jokes fly, the humor is acid, and it’s all extremely enjoyable.
With Potted Potter, you don’t just come to recognize the spells or the houses – although that doesn’t do anyone any harm – you come above all to laugh, participate (the spectators have their say), and let yourself be embarked on an adventure as picturesque as it is “Potteresque”.

And it’s the VIAGE that serves as the backdrop for this wacky show, adding even more “quirkiness” with its balconies, its classical architecture contrasting joyfully with the over-the-top atmosphere of Potted Potter. One of the assets of this staging is the proximity, even promiscuity, with the audience, who take part in this great communal farce.
Why can’t we wait to see it?
It’s funny and mischievous : the humor works with or without in-depth knowledge of the Harry Potter universe.
It’s pulsating: costume changes every 10 seconds, lively dialogue, audience interaction – there’s no time for boredom.
There’s something for everyone: children aged 6 and over (and budding wizards) will love it. Die-hard Hogwarts fans will have a keen eye for even the most discreet references, while comedy fans will appreciate the pace, improvisations and caustic references.
The reviews are dithyrambic: the critics are unanimous, and all the press applaud the performance:
“Delightfully zany. The show casts a perfect spell on the audience.” New York Times
“Cleverly seduces die-hard fans and parents alike.” The Times
“Irresistibly funny, a success all round. This show is a unanimous crowd-pleaser.” The Guardian
