Belgium is a country of art, culture and music. In fact, there are countless music festivals taking place throughout the year in our country. And now, Bruxelles Secrète has selected its 8 favorite festivals for the summer of 2024.
1. Tomorrowland – 19-21.07 & 26-28.07
Do we really need to introduce Tomorrowland, Belgium’s music festival behemoth? Indeed, in addition to its incredible line-up spread over two weekends (David Guetta, Vintage Culture, Afshin Momadi, Shaquille O’Neal as DJ Diesel, Gryffin, horsegiirL, Odymel, PARISI (live), Sasson b2b Rivo, SONA …) and its breathtaking scenography, the festival offers a real off village where you can stay, eat, shop etc.: it’s the DreamVille.

2. Rock Werchter – 04 to 07.07
One of Belgium’s leading music festivals. Based near Leuven, it has been bringing together the crème de la crème of rock and its multiple genres (alternative rock, indie rock, pop-rock) since 1974. It returns from July 4 to 7 with a line-up of true musical legends! See for yourself: Avril Lavigne, Foo Fighters, Lenny Kravitz, Måneskin, PJ Harvey, Simple Plan, Janelle Monáe… In short, an absolute must!

3. Dour Festival – 17 to 21.07
The Dour Festival features 8 stages for 5 days! Every year, this benchmark event welcomes the pillars of international music. In fact, they’re probably your favorite artists on Spotify! In 2024, the Dour Festival returns from July 17 to 21 with the talented Amelie Lens, TRYM, Ezra Collective, Gazo, James Blake, Josman, Luidji and Netsky, among others!

4. Les Ardentes – 11 to 14.07
21 Savage, Doja Cat, Offset, DJ Snake, Gazo, Tiakola… You’re all invited to the Festival Les Ardentes, in Liège, from July 11 to 14, 2024! And if you’re coming from afar, Les Ardentes even offers camping packages, so you can enjoy a crazy festival with your buddies, without getting in over your head! What are you waiting for?

5. Gent Jazz – 05 to 20.07
The Gent Jazz Festival is an international jazz festival held every year in Ghent in mid-July. The first week, entitled All That Jazz, brings together some of the world’s best jazz performers, while the second week, All That Jazz? brings together groups playing jazz-related music, such as soul and electronic music. This year, you’ll have the chance to see big names such as Diana Krall, Patrick Bruel, Birdy and Andre 3000.

6. Brosella Festival – 06 to 07.07
On Saturday July 6 and Sunday July 7, 2024, the Brosella Festival will be held at the Théâtre de Verdure, near the Atomium in Brussels. Since 1977, this emblematic festival has been celebrating musical and cultural diversity by paying tribute to the great names in “urban etno” music and jazz. This year’s line-up includes TaxiWars, Oumou Sangaré, Johnathan Blake Quintet, Ão, Naïssam Jalal, Lisa O’Neill, John Ghost, Kara Jackson, Flat Earth Society and Aishinka.

7. Reggae Geel – 02-03.08
Reggae Geel is a reggae music festival held in Geel with DJs and sound systems, followed by the main festival on Saturday. Known for its relaxed, non-commercial atmosphere, Reggae Geel, the oldest reggae festival in Europe, is often considered by many artists to be the closest reggae festival to the Jamaican spirit outside Jamaica. This year, expect to see the likes of Julian Marley & The Uprising, Arrested Development, Albosorie & The Shengen Clan. Cimarons, or Skip Marley!

8. We Can Dance – 03-04 & 10-11.08
WECANDANCE at Zeebrugge beach is more than just a music festival – it’s a seaside experience focused on COMMUNITY, DESIGN and IMPACT. Each year, the festival transforms the beach into a surprising and unmissable event on the Belgian coast, offering an eclectic line-up that mixes various genres of electronic music, as well as hip-hop and downtempo, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all.
