In Brussels, there’s a museum where your eyes can deceive you, your brain can play tricks on you, and your certainties can be shattered. Welcome to WOM (World of Mind), the immersive, multisensory experience at Tour & Taxis. And for Halloween, the venue takes the game with our perceptions even further: from October 17 to 31, 2026, the exhibition will be transformed into a special edition—stranger, more mysterious, and full of surprises.
For two weeks, mysterious sets, soundscapes, magicians, and surprising characters will take over the WOM’s 1,500 m². An experience designed to give both young and old a few chills, while staying true to the museum’s DNA: making us question what we see… and what our brains lead us to believe.

WOM: When Your Perceptions Play Tricks on You
The WOM isn’t really a museum like any other. Here, there’s no standing quietly in front of display cases: you touch, you observe, you experiment, and above all, you question what you see. Located at Tour & Taxis, the 1,500 m² permanent exhibition features a multitude of optical illusions as well as tactile and auditory illusions to put your senses to the test.
For over an hour, visitors navigate various interactive experiences and science stations that help them understand the cognitive mechanisms at work behind our perceptions. These spaces were developed in collaboration with Professor Steven Laureys, a world-renowned neurologist and recipient of the Francqui Prize.
Among the trail’s iconic spaces is the Alice Room, where proportions and perspectives are completely turned upside down. So, can we really trust what we see?

For Halloween, the WOM dives into the strange
What if a place dedicated to illusions were, after all, the ideal spot to celebrate Halloween? Starting October 17, the atmosphere at WOM gradually shifts: it becomes more mysterious, and Halloween seeps into the experience. The set design, signage, and soundscape were conceived by Maxime Mandrake to enhance this experience: the tour thus takes on an even stranger dimension during the fall break.
From October 17 to 29, the WOM has a surprise in store for visitors: every day from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., a magician will wander through the exhibition, performing impromptu acts as visitors pass by. Here, there are no scheduled shows or must-see events— magic can happen at any moment during your visit.
For the event’s final two days, the WOM has planned a special program for Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31. On the agenda: a magician, a stilt walker, and a balloon artist will take over the museum throughout the day, where visitors can stroll around in costume and with face paint. And of course, you can’t celebrate Halloween without some candy. So, trick or treat?
