An extraordinary circular bike path suspended in mid-air in the heart of a forest, which perfectly follows the shape of a circle? Yes, it exists: here’s Cycle Through the Trees! Inaugurated in 2019, this incredible cycle path attracts hundreds of cyclists eager to discover a bold blend of nature and architecture.
An impressive work of architecture
“Cycle Through The Trees” is the official name of this impressive trail, where you can pedal from tree to tree, following its dazzling circular shape and foliage. Housed in the Bosland forest, more precisely in the Pjiven estate (1h15 by car from Brussels), this architectural work of a different kind was built in 2019 thanks to the expertise of Belgian firms BuroLandschap and De Gregorio & Partners.
At one with nature
In complete harmony with nature, this circular bike path in the middle of the forest is 700 m long (100 m in diameter in total!). It also rises to a height of 10 metres. For safety reasons, it can only be used in one direction. It’s a real sporting getaway in the heart of nature, perfect for a well-deserved recharge after a week’s work!
A real postcard
This 360-degree panorama takes in the magnificent Limburg countryside. You can then continue your bike ride to the other nuggets of the Bosland forest. Like the Treehouse, for example, a contemporary tree house, or the carved tree “De Boom In”. For visiting cyclists, Lommel station is just a 20-minute bike ride away. There’s no excuse not to get there!
