With the coming arrival of the “Plaisirs d’Hiver” Christmas market, a festive atmosphere is beginning to make itself felt in Brussels! Just as the Bright Brussels festival is set to take place from February 13 to 16, 2025, the Belgian capital is preparing to be decked out in magnificent illuminations. From Wednesday, November 27, 2024 to Sunday, January 5, 2025, the streets of Brussels will sparkle with light as Brussels by Lights returns. Brussels Secret tells you all about it.
Brussels by Lights makes the streets of Brussels shine
We don’t yet know exactly which Brussels district will be in the spotlight this year! One thing’s for sure: we’ll keep you informed as soon as the news breaks. Last year, the spotlight was on the Chartreux district, located between Dansaert and St-Géry. There, you could discover Geometrix, a luminous promenade with 6 installations.
This luminous feat was “more Instagrammable than ever”, as stated on the event’s official website. Decorated store windows and phosphorescent frescoes were added to the mix. We can’t wait to discover what’s in store for the 2024-2025 winter season!
With many streets lit up all over Brussels, the capital is set to be adorned with kilometers of lights and garlands… Last year, the Christmas illuminations only lit up the streets from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., to save energy. Will the City of Brussels do the same this year? If the route is the same as last year, it will involve: De Brouckère, Sainte-Catherine (where Plaisirs d’Hiver is located), Bourse, Dansaert, St-Géry, Grand-Place, Fontainas, Anneessens, Rouppe, Agora, La Chapelle, Mont des Arts and Sablon. We can’t wait!
✨Brussels by Lights – from November 27, 2024 to January 5, 2025. More information to come on brusselsbylights.be.
