Popularized by the Tentation Fromage brand in 2019 and 2020, the cheeseYule log is a veritable culinary revolution on New Year’s Eve tables. Bye bye the traditional chocolate log: this year, we’re going for the unusual, the original and the ever-more-gourmand with this delicious recipe.
A cheese Yule log? We say yes!
Ingredients
- 1 thick slice of Beaufort
- 1 to 2 logs of Sainte-Maure de Touraine cheese
- 3 to 6 slices of cheddar
- 4 Tommes de brebis
- 4 Fourmes d’Ambert
- 1 small jar of fresh goat’s cheese
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
Recipe
Cut a large rectangle from your Beaufort cheese. This rectangle will serve as the base for the log.
Wrap the Sainte-Maure de Touraine log(s) with the cheddar slices.
Cut your Tommes de brebis to the size of the Sainte-Maure log, then place it on top.
Cut the Fourme d’Ambert cheese and wrap it around the log.
Cover with fromage frais, then sprinkle with grated Parmesan.
Your cheese Yule log is ready! Serve with cheese or dessert, accompanied by raisins, nuts, salad…
Secret Brussels tip: be extremely delicate when it comes to cutting the cheese and coating your log with its different layers. One false step and you’re out!
