These cinnamon buns, also known as Kanelbulles in Sweden (or even cinnamon rolls), were created, introduced and popularized in the inter-war years, when production of the ingredients increased. 1. Buddy Buddy
Buddy Buddy is the temple of cinnamon rolls in Brussels. This all-organic patisserie-café with homemade concoctions offers its own vegan version of the cinnamon roll, made with delicious almond butter and available to take away. A must-try.

2. Fika
For cinnamon rolls with an original twist, head for Fika, on Rue de la Paix in Ixelles. Here, the cinnamon buns are plaited in a pretty, staggered pattern, almost reminiscent of the delicate shape of a basket. These cinnamon buns, as they might be called, are perfect with an Iced Latte.

3. Grain Bakery
Often voted one of the capital’s best bakeries, Grain Bakery also offers tasty cinnamon rolls in its pretty Ixelles store, just a few steps from the Musée Horta. Grain Bakery also offers cardamom rolls, for those wishing to try out some unusual flavors!

Reheated to perfection, Karsmakers’ cinnamon rolls are among the most delicious you’ll find in Brussels. In this charming English-style coffee shop, you can even enjoy a pretty little garden and terrace at the back of the premises.

Like Buddy Buddy, Mok offers a vegan version of the cinnamon roll that’s sure to tantalize the taste buds. We highly recommend accompanying it with a cappuccino, star of the house, a classic Italian coffee for the traditionalists, or even a tasty iced coffee in summer.
