At Bruxelles Secrète, we’re big foodies, and we absolutely love cinnamon rolls! These cinnamon buns, also known as Kanelbullar in Sweden (or simply cinnamon rolls), were created, introduced, and popularized during the interwar period, when ingredient production was on the rise. Their buttery filling, hints of sugar and spices, and snail-like shape give them a completely irresistible, indulgent appeal. Where can you savor (or devour) cinnamon rolls in Brussels? Here are our favorite spots.
Cups & Rolls
A new spot has just joined the ranks of the best cinnamon rolls in all of Brussels! Just a stone’s throw from the Grand Place, Cups & Rolls lives up to its growing popularity with its delicious recipes: Classic Flavors and Premium Flavors. The capital’s new go-to spot for a sweet treat.
Fika
For cinnamon rolls with a unique twist, head to Fika, located on Rue de la Paix in Ixelles. Here, the cinnamon buns are braided into a pretty, staggered twist that almost resembles the delicate shape of a basket. These cinnamon buns, as you might call them, are perfect with an Iced Latte.
Grain Bakery
Often voted one of the best bakeries in the capital, Grain Bakery also offers delicious cinnamon rolls in its charming Ixelles shop, located just a few steps from the Horta Museum. Grain Bakery also offers cardamom rolls for those who want to try something a little different!
Togâ
Right in the heart of Brussels, the Togâ pastry shop is a treat for every foodie’s taste buds! One of Léonie Guillemot’s specialties: the Cinnamon Roll! Golden swirls with a soft, fluffy texture that encase a succulent brown center. A sweet delight and a must-try in the capital.
Karsmakers Coffee House
Freshly baked, Karsmakers’ cinnamon rolls are among the most delicious you’ll find in Brussels. In this charming English-style coffee shop —just the way we like them—you can even enjoy a lovely little garden and a terrace located at the back of the shop.
Mok
Just like Buddy Buddy, Mok offers a vegan version of the cinnamon roll that’s sure to make your mouth water. We highly recommend pairing it with a cappuccino—the house specialty—a classic Italian-style coffee for those who prefer tradition, or even a delicious iced coffee in the summer.
Have a roll
Have a Roll is the go-to spot for cinnamon rolls in Brussels! Available individually or in boxes of 4 or 6, these little wonders come in vegan, classic, apple, walnut, speculoos, or even peanut butter and jam versions. We’re swooning.
