There’s no shortage of dog-friendly outing ideas in Belgium, but this one is definitely worth a detour. On June 13 and 14, the McArthurGlen Roubaix center, located less than two hours from Brussels, is dedicating an entire weekend to dogs and their humans with the very first Dog’s Days. A great excuse to plan a trip across the border with your four-legged friend!
A dog-friendly getaway just a stone’s throw from Brussels
For two days, the northern outlet will set aside its image as a mere shopping destination to offer an experience centered on animal well-being. At the entrance to the center, a specially designed area will bring together several key players from the canine world. Visitors will be able to talk with nutrition specialists, discover approaches dedicated to dogs’ comfort and relaxation, or learn more from organizations committed to animal protection. The goal : to offer a friendly gathering where owners can learn while sharing an activity with their pets.
Activities and cute finds for the pups
The event will also be all about new discoveries. Between a break at the Cabot Café and a stop at Boubou Dogstore to find accessories and little treasures, visitors will have plenty to keep them busy all day. On Sunday, an illustrator specializing in the animal world will present her creations. A wildlife photographer will also offer personalized photos to capture the visit. Enough to leave with a souvenir far more original than just a receipt!
Shopping is going dog-friendly, too
Even the participating stores will get in on the fun. Several brands will showcase products designed for pet owners, from accessories to everyday items inspired by the canine world. An original way to add a playful touch to a shopping trip. For Brussels residents looking for a different kind of outing, Dog’s Days could well become the perfect excuse for a weekend getaway near the border.
