Readers’ choice: what’s the WORST public transport line in Brussels?
Many of you played the game and answered – and we’d like to thank you. Metros, streetcars, buses… you put every possible line to the test to tell us which was, in your opinion, the worst of the worst. The one that would make you prefer to cross the Atlantic in a pedalo in stormy weather. How about a hint? This line links Roi Baudoin station to Elisabeth station… You guessed it! Metro line 6 has officially been voted the WORST public transport line in Brussels! And by a long, long way!
Metro line 6 voted WORST public transport line in Brussels
With a large majority of votes cast, line 6 (metro) was voted worst public transport line! This metro line, which links the Roi Baudoin stadium to Elisabeth/Simonis, passes through many of the city’s key points, including the Gare du Midi, Porte de Namur, Arts-Lois and Botanique. As a result, it’s often crowded and, above all, very old and full of problems. In short, line 6 is hell on earth!
Following in second and third place are the metro lines 2 and the much-maligned bus line 71. Also in the top five are streetcar line 51 (87 votes), which links Stade (Laeken) to Gare du Midi, and streetcar line 81 (81 votes). The latter links Montgomery to Marius Renard.
