We’re continuing our metro map series! A short while ago, we shared with you a map in which the names of subway stations have been replaced by those of cultural sites on the earth’s surface. After the cultural aspect, let’s move on to a more practical one. Admittedly, it’s not going to prevent the daily vagaries of public transport in Brussels (breakdowns come to mind). But perhaps this invaluable map showing the walking times between metro stations will help you save a little time on your journey ! And yes, time is money.
The map of walking times between each metro station in Brussels: journeys ranging from 4 to 15 minutes
Produced by the STIB in 2015, this map shows walking times between each metro station in Brussels. Among other things, it allows you to consider new routes that you might not have thought of. Walk to line 6 at Rogier from Gare du Nord station, for example, to avoid taking line 4. On the other hand, if you want to get from Heysel station to Houba-Brugmann at a brisk pace, you might think twice: it’s the longest distance on foot between two stops!

Conversely, walking times such as Trône-Porte de Namur, Parvis de St-Gilles-Porte de Hal and Gribaumont-Joséphine Charlotte (only 4 minutes!) would almost make you regret taking the metro… However, the map doesn’t show walking times on Brussels’ other tramway lines. That doesn’t mean you can’t embark on the most beautiful ride in Brussels aboard streetcar 44! Put on your walking shoes and off you go!
