Address, price, menu… We tell you everything you need to know about this delicious little sandwich from Korea.
Korean toast is finally in Brussels
In the heart of Brussels is the charming Caffè Batavia. Specializing in Indonesian coffee, this cantine’s menu features many of the archipelago’s culinary specialties. A very special mention goes to their Chiffon Cake au Pandan, an ultra-soft, airy Indonesian cake. But what really interests us here are the Korean toasts. The menu features four different variations of the same sandwich.
The Tempura K-toast (13.5€) contains sweet cornfritters (vegan), Mentai housesauce with tempura (ebi fry ), white cabbage, carrot, scrambled egg and katsuobushi (dried bonito). The Chicken K-toast (13.5€), on the other hand, features chicken fillet, homemade mayonnaise and miso sauce with yuzu, carrot, kimchi, nori, white cabbage, scrambled egg, topped with nori and sesame seeds… Sensitive palates beware, this sandwich is spicy!
The Bulgogi beef K-toast is 14 euros and the sweet corn K-toast is only 11 euros! So why deprive yourself? And for those of you with a sweet tooth, Batavia offers brunch every Sunday with Fluffy Pancakes! Gourmet delights at every meal.
