From January 26 to February 1, 2026, the French capital is hosting another edition of the Semaine du Son, a free cultural event that celebrates sound in all its forms and invites the public to pay new attention to their sound environment.
Every year, Semaine du Son – also known as Son.Oor – offers a rich and accessible program designed for the curious and the passionate alike. The aim? To raise awareness of the importance of sound in our daily lives, the quality of listening and the impact of soundscapes on our lives, in the city and elsewhere.
Over the course of a week, Brussels becomes a place for experimentation and reflection on the subject of listening, in a convivial atmosphere open to all.
A multidisciplinary festival of sound and listening

La Semaine du Son is more than just a music festival. It explores sound in all its dimensions – cultural, social, artistic and environmental. The event is part of an international movement supported by cultural and educational institutions, with the clear aim of making these themes accessible to the general public.
In Brussels, programming is traditionally based on a variety of formats: meetings, conferences, workshops, listening sessions and artistic proposals. Activities are designed to encourage reflection as well as experience, with no particular prerequisites. We come out of curiosity, and often leave with a new way of paying attention to our surroundings.
Free events in several Brussels venues

Semaine du Son takes place in various cultural venues across Brussels, in collaboration with institutional and artistic partners. Events are free of charge, although some may require advance booking, depending on capacity.
The full program is usually unveiled shortly before the start of the festival, with details of venues, times and formats. It’s an event to keep an eye on for those who love original, off-the-beaten-track cultural experiences.
Whether you’re sensitive to issues of well-being, the environment, artistic creation or simply curious, Semaine du Son offers a welcome interlude in the heart of the Brussels winter. An invitation to slow down, listen and rediscover the city in a different way!
