When Museums Come Alive at Night: Brussels’ Largest Cultural Festival
Conceived and organized by the non-profit Brussels Museums, Museum Night Fever was born out of a bold vision: to break down barriers to cultural institutions and reinvent the way people visit museums. Over nearly two decades, the event has established itself as the must-attend gathering for the curious, night owls, and art enthusiasts. By giving emerging and local artists free rein to create custom performances, this late-night event transforms traditional exhibition spaces into vibrant, festive, and interactive playgrounds.
Beyond its electrifying atmosphere, Museum Night Fever is rooted in a strong social commitment: making culture accessible to everyone. Through close collaboration with Open Museum, the event works to remove physical, financial, and social barriers for all visitors. Affordable ticket prices, detailed accessibility guides, and customized guided tours ensure that this major urban celebration remains a safe and welcoming space for all visitors.

On Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., 28 Brussels museums will open their doors for an exceptional late-night event celebrating artistic diversity. Each venue will feature unique activities: City Hall will host an immersive cabaret, while the Sewer Museum invites visitors on an unusual stroll along the Senne River. The Fashion & Lace Museum will come alive with workshops led by the FountainFest collective, while the Coudenberg’s basement levels will buzz with activity during the joyful Zinneke Parade procession.
