When summer starts to peek its head out, the best getaways are often those that combine the great outdoors with good food. On June 27 and 28, 2026, Ostend celebrates precisely this winning combination. The Ostendaise – North Sea Food Fest is back . For its tenth edition, this must-attend event promises a weekend of tastings overlooking the North Sea.
An open-air restaurant overlooking the waves

Set in a maritime setting that evokes the spirit of vacation, the event brings together more than thirty Ostend establishments united by a single mission… To showcase local products. The concept is simple yet incredibly effective. Visitors stroll freely among the stands, create their own culinary journey, and sample creations designed especially for the occasion. Admission is free, and dishes cost just 8 or 10 euros. That’s enough to explore plenty of new flavors without breaking the bank!
The North Sea in all its glory

Freshly landed fish, shellfish, oysters, and local ingredients are at the heart of the festival. Among the featured dishes are Ostend oysters and reimagined langoustines. Or crab pasta, a North Sea fish taco, and even a North Sea sausage. Those with a sweet tooth won’t be left out, with creations like the Baba Soleil or the Boule d’Ostende ice cream. Each dish has been pre-selected by Gault&Millau, a guarantee of quality that underpins the event’s reputation.
The perfect excuse for a trip from Brussels
Just over an hour by train from Brussels, Ostendaise offers a wonderful opportunity to get some fresh air for a day. Between tastings, you can enjoy the beach and the seaside promenade. And, of course, the relaxed atmosphere that reigns along the coast. With its spectacular sunsets, ultra-fresh produce, and friendly atmosphere, this festival has everything it takes to become one of the most delicious outings of early summer!
