There are two types of people! Those who can resist buying a new plant, and those who come back from a simple walk with a pot under their arm! On September 26 and 27, the Boitsfort Hippodrome is likely to put both types to the test. This is, in fact, the very first edition of the Fête des Plantes, a new Brussels event entirely dedicated to plants.
The new playground for plant lovers
For two days, houseplants and garden plants will leave the garden centers to come together in one place. The idea isn’t just to come and shop! The Fête des Plantesalso aimsto bring together enthusiasts, hobbyists, and experts to share advice and discoveries on how to better grow—and, above all, keep alive —everything you take home.
Whether you’ve already turned your apartment into an urban jungle or your last plant mysteriously died after three weeks, this event is aimed at both connoisseurs and much less experienced gardeners alike.
A fun way to get ready for fall
The timing is no coincidence. At the end of September, balconies transition into a new season. Gardens are crying out for a little attention, while houseplants find their way back indoors after the summer. Rather than spending a Saturday wandering the aisles of a garden center, here’s the perfect excuse to devote an entire weekend to your love of plants.
And let’s be honest: the real challenge will probably be leaving empty-handed. Because between the plants to adopt, the tips to pick up, and the new ideas for transforming a somewhat dreary corner of your home, it’s hard to promise that a quick visit “just to look around” won’t end with a new green roommate.
📍 Address: Boitsfort Racetrack.
