BXL Food Marathon: the sports and gourmet concept that invites athletes to run a marathon and eat galettes returns to Brussels.
Are you a fan of running, but also of good food? Then you’re sure to be delighted by the return of the BXL Food Marathon, dedicated to galettes. But what exactly is the BXL Food Marathon? It’s a unique running club that combines running and food. After launching their concept with a galette des rois last year, the organizers were able to treat runners to crêpes, croissants, French fries, matcha…
One year on, the theme is once again the galette des rois. The concept of this “Galettathon” is very simple. You sign up for the half-marathon (21 km) or the full marathon (42 km), and every 7 or 8 kilometers, you have to make a stop, for a total of 6 or 7 stops. And not just any stops! Because at every stop, you’ll discover delicious galette des rois from the capital’s best bakeries and pastry shops. So, you run a bit, you eat a bit, you run a bit more… from galette to galette!

For the moment, the full list of participating bakeries has not yet been revealed. But you can expect to find Goods and Fiston, two of the capital’s leading bakeries. In other important news, the event remains free of charge, but registration is compulsory. Runners will be divided into two groups according to race pace. Don’t panic, all the info is on the BXL Food Marathon Instagram account. See you on Sunday?
