Brussels was still missing an event entirely dedicated to love stories, fantastical worlds, and novels that transport readers far from everyday life. That’s now a thing of the past with StoryHeaven, whose very first edition takes over The EGG this weekend. For two days, fans of romance, fantasy, romantasy, and the fantastical can come to discuss their favorite reads, meet authors, and—most importantly—step into the story themselves.
A new playground for book lovers
Here, it’s not just about browsing tables filled with novels. StoryHeaven has put together a program that combines meet-and-greets, book signings, book clubs, quizzes, and reading areas, featuring authors, publishers, booksellers, illustrators, and creators who will be there to showcase their worlds. Several independent authors will also be present, alongside publishers such as Book Mark, Juno Publishing, and LL Éditions. You’re sure to leave with some new reads—and probably a TBR pile even longer than when you arrived.
What if you created your own universe?
The fair also emphasizescreativity with a series of workshops designed to appeal to readers who love the physical book as much as the stories it contains. On the agenda: calligraphy, book personalization, creating fantasy cards, making bookmarks, and even an introduction to jaspage—a technique for decorating the edges of pages. A fantastic exhibition featuring five artists from the Brolectif collective will also be on display, while five costumed characters will transform the venue into a true fantasy world. And since cosplay and fantasy go hand in hand, costumes are even encouraged.
