In Anhée, Belgium (a 1 hour 15 minute drive from Brussels), the splendid Annevoie Gardens impress with their charm and beauty. Here , waterways, varied gardens, statues, a castle, and all kinds of shrubs coexist. They are the only water gardens in Belgium (which shows just how precious they are). They are also among the most beautiful in Europe!
French, Italian, and English-style gardens!

When they moved into their Annevoie castle in 1691, the Lord of Yvoir, Jean de Montpellier, and his wife, Marie de Halloy, had not yet built what would make their estate famous: the water gardens. Created in 1758 by their son Charles-Alexis de Montpellier, these gardens draw their water from the various streams that feed the forges and the lower levels of the castle upstream. Soon, an entire park was laid out around them. The whole complex featured French, Italian, and English gardens (no less!).
Opened to the public for the first time in 1930 (almost 200 years after their completion), the Annevoie Gardens feature sumptuous water features that punctuate its many ponds, fountains, waterfalls, and charming canal.
An exceptional heritage

The site is stunningly beautiful. And it’s just a 1 hour and 15-minute drive from the capital! Plus, it has received numerous accolades over the years.
