It’s just past 2 a.m. on Thursday when Amélie Lens begins the finale of her set. On Dour’s Main Stage, the Belgian artist presents her new audiovisual show, designed as an immersive experience centered on light, energy, and connection with the audience. In the mix, an unexpected voice slips in between two drum kicks. That soft voice, contrasting with the DJ’s raw techno, belongs to none other thanAngèle.
Angèle’s Surprise Appearance at the Dour Festival
The Brussels-based singer takes the stage from the side, to the cheers of an audience that wasn’t expecting her to show up. Together, the two artists unveil a world-exclusive premiere of their very first collaboration: a track titled “Run.” It’s a fast-paced, danceable techno track designed to be accessible and bring together fans of both techno and pop.
Just one collaboration on the album *Aura*
“Run” will appear on *Aura*, Amélie Lens’s debut studio album, set for release on September 4 on her own label, Exhale. It’s a project the producer has been working on for years without ever having released a full-length album. Angèle will be the only featured artist on the entire album. With just one guest artist, the singer’s presence is all the more symbolic for the project as a whole.
Angèle: Making the Switch to Electronic Music?
This appearance comes at a time when electronic sounds are increasingly making their way into Angèle’s repertoire. The singer is currently promoting her single “Dis-le, ” released on June 19, and is working on a new album, *Instinct*, expected later this year. A techno collaboration with one of the genre’s global icons is a logical next step in this more electrifying shift, which began in recent months.
For now, “Run” exists only in the memories of those who were on the Main Stage that night, and in the videos already circulating online. We’ll have to wait until September 4 and the release of *Aura* to hear it. For many festivalgoers, this experience was therefore a special preview even before the track’s official release.
