New Year’s Eve in Brussels is all about lights, music, festive crowds and magical moments around the fireworks display at the Atomium. But in the midst of all this excitement, the question arises: how to get around easily and without breaking the bank? The good news is that, once again this year, the STIB is offering a free, extended network of buses, streetcars and metros to get you to all the festivities.
Free transport and extended timetables – STIB at your service

The main lines are also seeing their timetables extended. Metros, streetcars and buses run later than usual, while Noctis buses provide continuous service until the early hours of the morning. Streetcar line 81, which runs through several central districts, will also be available all night long, to avoid walking too long after the party.
Fireworks and stress-free travel tips

A word of advice: arriving a little earlier and taking advantage of extended streetcars or buses guarantees you won’t get stuck in the crowds. And don’t forget – only STIB transport is free, SNCB trains have their own fares and timetable.
