There are places where you’d love to linger from morning until night. Nestled in the lush greenery of Forest Park, La Villa was designed precisely for that: to enjoy breakfast, have lunch with friends, treat yourself to a sweet break after a walk… and now, a leisurely brunch on Saturday or Sunday. Housed in a historic chalet, this spot has added a new option to its menu, featuring gourmet dishes at surprisingly reasonable prices.
A brunch you can customize to your liking
This new offering is sure to delight those who love to sleep in: La Villa now serves brunch every Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Here, there’s no set menu or endless buffet: you’re free to choose from a menu designed for mixing and sharing according to your appetite. On the menu: Turkish eggs, sweet potato toast, smoked salmon, pancakes, homemade granola, and savory buns. There’s something to satisfy both those with a sweet tooth and those who prefer to start the day with something more substantial.
Another pleasant surprise is that the prices remain affordable: most dishes range from 8 to 12 euros. So you can settle for a few small bites or put together a hearty brunch without watching the bill skyrocket. The menu gives pride of place to plant-based ingredients, in the spirit of simple, seasonal, and no-frills cuisine.
A historic chalet that’s bustling from morning to night
But La Villa isn’t limited to weekend gatherings. Open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., it also welcomes guests for breakfast on weekdays and lunch. From Monday through Friday, a “dish of the week” for 15 euros rounds out the menu, alongside the house classics: the “Parc” platter, burgers, warm goat cheese salad, and waterzooi-style chicken broth. And for those who prefer to linger after their meal, cookies, banana bread, and carrot cake are also on the menu.
Behind this spot are Alice Billiet and Géraldine Taymans—who previously launched the Guinguette du Parc de Forest in 2016—joined by Grégory Marlier, Max Chauvet, Duy Thuan, and the Mood for Green team. Their goal: to turn this chalet into a vibrant community hub, open to the neighborhood and committed to home-style cooking that prioritizes seasonal ingredients and locally sourced produce. Meat is sourced primarily from Dierendonck, while the menu evolves with the seasons and the team’s inspiration.
A break in nature, no matter the season
With its large, light-filled dining room and south-facing terrace overlooking the park, La Villa has more than one reason to become the go-to spot for days with no set plans. After welcoming guests to its terrace—which seats about 200—during the warmer months, the restaurant also reveals its cozier side as the colder season approaches. It’s easy to imagine yourself there after a stroll through the trees, sipping coffee and enjoying a slice of carrot cake, or sitting down for a Sunday brunch that goes on and on. After all, you may have just found the perfect excuse to get out of the house on the weekend.
