What if your next big dinner party took place in the middle of the hop fields? From August 27 to 30, Les Tables Houblonnées returns to the Ypres region for an experience that blends fine dining, Belgian beers, and a festive atmosphere. For a few days, the hop fields will transform into a rather unexpected pop-up restaurant .
A menu designed for large groups
The experience begins with a live cooking demonstration, before moving on to the main event with a multi-course menu. Highlights include : truffle croque, skewers, “crying tiger,” and roasted vegetables. The trio of heirloom tomatoes will then be served with tomato juice, stracciatella, garlic toast, and hop-infused oil. All of which perfectly echoes the decor surrounding the tables.
The main course is also a generous and convivial meal: pork belly marinated in maple syrup and accompanied by a chimichurri sauce, served with crispy cabbage and a sweet brown sugar garnish. A vegetarian option is also available upon request.
Hops even make their way into the meal’s pairings
Each course is paired with a selection of beers from Brasserie Caulier, including Paix Dieu Nova, Stuut Juicy Dolly, and Paix Dieu Triple. This year, Paix Dieu Nova takes center stage, designed as a table beer to be shared throughout the meal.
And once dinner is over, there’s no question of heading home right away: a DJ set takes over in the heart of the hop fields to extend the evening surrounded by nature. It’s a rather original way to enjoy the end of summer, with hop vines as the only backdrop.
