When cornstalks reach several meters in height, some fields transform into veritable giant mazes. With puzzle-filled trails, family-friendly activities, and adventures in the great outdoors, these plant-filled mazes have become summer staples in Belgium. Here are five places to test your sense of direction… and enjoy a day that’s out of the ordinary!
The Durbuy Maze

If there’s only one maze to explore in Belgium, it’s undoubtedly the one in Durbuy. Every summer for nearly 30 years, a massive 11-hectare cornfield has been transformed into a spectacular maze featuring sets, actors, puzzles, and activities for the whole family. For the 2026 edition, visitors will embark on a space adventure inspired by *Interstellar Ella*, featuring robots, immersive shows, and a rescue mission right in the heart of the cornstalks. It’s an outing that’s as fun as it is unique, where people come just as much to get lost as to enjoy the many activities.
Le Grain Égaré Maze

Opened in 2024, Le Grain Égaré has already established itself as one of Wallonia’s largest corn mazes. Nestled in the heart of 13 hectares of cornfields in Tarcienne, it completely reinvents its theme every summer. For the 2026 edition , young and old alike are invited to dive into the world of the Smurfs through three trails suitable for all ages. A mini-adventure for the little ones, a large family maze filled with puzzles, and a challenge reserved for the most daring, where you’ll have to find your way out… without a map! The experience continues with immersive settings, an open-air café, and activities in the heart of nature.
The Hannut Maze

Born from the original idea of a local arborist, the Hannut Maze has quickly become one of the region’s must-see summer attractions. Set in the heart of a vast cornfield, the maze invites young and old alike to get lost among the tall stalks. On site, an open-air café, tractor rides through the orchards, and even nighttime flashlight tours with live concerts round out the experience, making for a day (or evening) that’s truly out of the ordinary.
Maïsterplan

Just a stone’s throw from Bruges, Maïsterplan reinvents the traditional corn maze into a true day of adventure on the farm. In the heart of the Damme polders, two courses await visitors. One maze for the little ones and a second, much larger one, where you can easily get lost for one to two hours. But the experience doesn’t stop there! Glamping in the middle of the fields, a tour of the organic farm, a packraft ride, and a barbecue featuring farm-fresh produce… Here, the maze is just one part of an immersive experience that celebrates nature and the local region.
Maisdoolhof Zwijntjeshof

If you’re looking for a more intimate corn maze, head to Evergem, near Ghent. Every summer, the Zwijntjeshof farm sets up a vast plant maze where the goal is simple. Yes, it’s to find your way out as a family while enjoying the Flemish countryside! The experience is rounded out by a summer bistro with a terrace, games for the kids, and a laid-back atmosphere that invites you to extend your outing long after you’ve found your way out of the maze. A more peaceful alternative to the large themed mazes, it’s ideal for a half-day getaway.
