This month, the magic of summer takes to the streets of Brussels with “Commerces en fleurs” ! This is the summer event that dresses the city center in color and fragrance until August 24. Five districts come alive with spectacular floral displays, where art and nature come together in the heart of the capital.
A floral itinerary to shake things up
For the past five years, “Commerces en fleurs” has transformed the historic center of Brussels into a veritable living work of art. This 2025 edition features a 90-minute itinerary of over 100,000 flowers, divided into five colorful zones. Each area becomes a veritable theater. Reflection, transparency and light play with the floral installations, inviting visitors on an immersive, sensory stroll.
Art and commerce in perfect harmony
Beyond simple decoration, “Commerces en fleurs” has a broader ambition. To support local commercial activity by offering visitors a renewed experience, where stores and floral art interact. The courtyard of the Hôtel de Ville, the high point of the tour, is the setting for “Pink Blush”. This poetic installation combines Philippe Katerine’s iconic work with a baroque mirror overflowing with flowers and pink bubbles, perfect for a souvenir selfie.
A summer of local creativity
Born in the midst of the pandemic to revitalize businesses, the event continues to support the vitality of the downtown area. More than 100,000 flowers and some twenty installations are taking part in this event, financed by the City to the tune of €100,000. In parallel, the Hôtel de Ville will host “Flower Time” from August 13 to 17. Fifteen rooms transformed by Belgian and international florists around the theme of fashion and textile design. A great way to extend your stroll, with your eyes and imagination wide open.
