Missed the competition for the best carbonnade in town? Don’t worry, you’ll be able to make up for it with the competition for the best vol-au-vent in Brussels. Organized by the BXLove association until the end of May, this gourmet culinary event invites Brussels residents to choose the best place in the capital to enjoy this Belgian specialty.
Where to eat the best vol-au-vent in Brussels? Brussels residents vote!
It’s one of the prides of Belgian gastronomy. A crispy, airy puff pastry filled with a gourmet filling, vol-au-vent is – along with croquettes and moules-frites – a staple of our cuisine. Until May 30, 2025, you can help choose which is the best in Europe’s capital. Some twenty of the capital’s establishments are inviting professionals and the general public to vote for the best vol-au-vent in Brussels.
How to vote? First of all, you can discover the list of participating restaurants on the event’s website. They include such Brussels institutions as Lola, Belga Queen and Le Corbier. In all, 18 restaurants are taking part in this culinary competition. After tasting a vol-au-vent from one of these restaurants, you can cast your vote via a QR code. It couldn’t be easier!
Who’s going to rate the dishes? You, of course. But also a jury made up of journalists, influencers and local personalities. To receive the title of “Best Brussels Vol-au-Vent 2025”, the dish will be judged on the quality of the puff pastry, the preparation of the chicken and the mastery of the sauce. The fries, dumplings and mushrooms that accompany the dish will also be taken into account. So grab your forks and get voting!
