This summer, a new brasserie will open its doors on Place Reine Astrid in Jette with a simple goal: to recreate a true gathering place where people come to enjoy lunch, have a drink on the terrace, or extend their evening around a large table. Part of the Nonante Folies group, Brasserie Miroir aims to put a sense of community back at the heart of Brussels’ brasserie culture.
A rebirth in the heart of Jette
After several months of renovation, the former Brasserie du Miroir is set to begin a new chapter under the leadership of Ludovic Chevalier and Maxime Grell, who are already behind several Brussels establishments. Their vision? To create a neighborhood brasserie where locals can gather without needing a special occasion. With its prime location on Place Reine Astrid, the spot is expected to quickly become a new gathering place in Jette. The large, sunny terrace will be one of the venue’s major draws, designed as a true extension of the dining room.
Generous Belgian cuisine and a rotisserie take center stage
On the food front, the new brasserie has opted fora cuisine that immediately appeals to lovers of Belgian tradition. No complicated showmanship here, just comforting, hearty dishes made to be shared. The star of the show will be the rotisserie, featuring spit-roasted chicken that’s set to become the restaurant’s signature dish. Visible from the dining room, the slow cooking process will add that touch of spectacle reminiscent of the great brasseries. Belgian regional classics, such as carbonnades, will round out a menu designed around flavor and simplicity.
