Just a few kilometers from the Hautes Fagnes, a castle straight out of a medieval fairy tale is about to experience its most beautiful bloom. From July 25 to August 2, 2026, Castelflora takes over Reinhardstein Castle for a colorful interlude where heritage, floral art, and a summery atmosphere become one.
A castle transformed into a life-size garden

Perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Warche Valley, Reinhardstein Castle already offers a spectacular setting all year round. But during Castelflora, the experience takes on a whole new dimension. The historic halls, corridors, and iconic spaces of the fortress are transformed under the guidance of professional and passionate florists who come to create original arrangements specifically for the event.
Thousands of flowers take over the grounds and interact with the castle’s centuries-old stones. The result? An immersive tour where every room holds its own share of visual surprises and floral displays.
Art installations that invite you to dream
The 2026 edition will notably showcase several renowned creators from the world of floristry. Among them is German artist Sandra Ganser, who specializes in installations made from dried flowers and plants gathered in the wild. Her poetic creations transform certain rooms into suspended worlds, filled with floating flowers and compositions inspired by the natural world.
This artistic approach adds a contemporary dimension to the visit. It also enhances the almost magical atmosphere that reigns within the fortress during the event.
A craft market to round out the stroll

Outside, the medieval courtyard hosts a lively artisan market. Designers, artisans, music, and small performances round out the experience in a most pleasant atmosphere. It’s the perfect opportunity to stroll between visits, discover some original creations, and enjoy the exceptional setting.
Easily accessible from Brussels for a day trip, Castelflora stands out as one of the most original summer outings in Belgium. It’s a wonderful getaway idea for lovers of flowers, heritage, or simply places that are out of the ordinary.
