Set in the garden of theAnderlecht Cultural Center, the Les Escales Estivales festival—now a must-see event—is already celebrating its ninth edition. The concept is as simple as it is effective: eight Thursdays, eight concerts, and just as many musical destinations. Following the kickoff in early July, the lineup features Cuban salsa from Septeto Son, the festive tarantellas of Télamuré, the swing of Mec Yek, the flamenco influences of Niña Maleza, the Tuareg blues of TisDass, the Latin American sounds of Sindicato Sonico, and the Balkan rhythms of Lorkê Lorkê.
The atmosphere makes all the difference. You settle down on the grass, share a drink, and nibble on a dish prepared on-site.
