What to do in Anderlecht? Where to go out in Anderlecht? Restaurants, culture, parks: here are 9 ideas for outings, activities and things to do in Anderlecht.
1. Discover the Brussels Gueuze Museum
Brasserie Cantillon is a traditional brewery with beer cellars and brewing equipment dating back to 1900 (no less!), and you can visit, take part in tastings and treat yourself to something to take home via the store! This gueuze museum is a real reference in Brussels.
📍Address: Rue Gheude 56, 1070 Anderlecht
2. Visit the House of Erasmus and the Anderlecht Beguinage
A visit to the Maison d’Érasme & Béguinage d’Anderlecht is a real journey through one of Brussels’ oldest Gothic houses (where the philosopher Erasmus lived in 1521) and a timeless beguinage, including the Collégiale Saints-Pierre-et-Guidon, located between the two, which we also recommend visiting.
📍Address: Rue de Formanoir 31 (Maison d’Érasme) and Rue du Chapelain 8 (Béguinage), 1070 Anderlecht
3. Treat yourself to a gourmet dinner at La Brouette
With precise food and wine pairings, more-than-reasonable prices for a gourmet restaurant, and quality dishes bordering on perfection, we wonder why La Brouette isn’t one of Brussels’ Michelin-starred addresses! A word of warning: lobster lovers should find something to their liking!
📍Address: Bd Prince de Liège 61, 1070 Anderlecht
4. Relax in Parc Astrid
With its pond and pretty gardens, its playground and even its restaurant, Parc Astrid is a real green lung for a breath of fresh air in Anderlecht. Very well maintained, the park is perfect for lunches with friends, family outings or even sporting activities.
📍Address: Rdpt du Meir, 1070 Anderlecht
5. See one of Brussels’ last windmills
There are still very few old-fashioned mills in Brussels. Long ago, the capital had plenty of mills, thanks in part to the power of the Senne, Brussels’ ancient river. In Anderlecht, the Luizenmolen (a replica of another mill) is a must-see to get a feel for this bygone era.
📍Address: Rue des Papillons 192, 1070 Anderlecht
6. Stroll along Rue Porselein
A picturesque little street in the historic center of Anderlecht, rue Porselein links the square in front of the collegiate church of Saint-Guidon to rue Saint-Guidon. It’s one of Brussels’ most beautiful hidden treasures, with its colorful little houses, and richly deserves its place in this ranking.
📍Address: Rue Porselein, 1070 Anderlecht
7. Drink a beer at Brasserie de l’Ermitage
Who doesn’t know Brasserie de l’Ermitage? This microbrewery on Rue Lambert Crickx is a veritable institution! With craft beers made on the premises and sold at very affordable prices, attentive service and a super-friendly setting perfect for get-togethers with friends, we highly recommend Brasserie de l’Ermitage!
📍Address: Rue Lambert Crickx 26, 1070 Anderlecht.
8. Take a walk in Parc de la Pede
Anderlecht has no shortage of parks: in addition to Parc Astrid and the parks on Avenue Marius Renard (Parc Vives, Parc des Étangs and Parc Joseph Lemaire), we can also count on Parc Régional de la Pede, where you can stroll along its ponds, lush green paths and even say hello to its moorhens!
📍Address: Rue de Neerpede 902, 1070 Anderlecht.
9. Visit Zinnema at least once
L’Escale du Nord (Anderlecht’s cultural center) is well worth a visit, but we also recommend a visit to Zinnema, the art center on the rue de Veeweyde. Their program focuses on art and theater, with workshops on directing, acting, scriptwriting and personal development, among others.
📍Address: 24-26, Rue de Veeweyde, 1070 Anderlecht
