Some moves simply change an address, while others mark the end of an era. In Brussels, a gastronomic institution founded in 1892 is preparing to leave Anderlecht and set up shop right in the city center: La Paix, David Martin’s restaurant, is moving on September 15.
A historic location gives way to a new chapter
Since 1892, La Paix has been located in Anderlecht, in a neoclassical building on Rue Ropsy-Chaudron. That’s more than a century of Brussels history, then, before this major change set to take place at the start of the new school year. The restaurant, now a two-Michelin-starred establishment, will leave its historic location to set up shop in a distinctly different setting: the Corinthia Grand Hotel Astoria Brussels on Rue Royale.
The contrast promises to be quite spectacular. On one hand, an institution deeply rooted in Anderlecht and its Abattoirs neighborhood; on the other, a recently restored Brussels palace in the heart of the capital. The move, however, does not spell the end of La Paix: the name, the chef, and the spirit of the house are all coming along for the ride.
From the Abattoirs neighborhood to Rue Royale
Starting September 15, 2026, La Paix will welcome guests at its new location, the Corinthia Hotel Astoria at 103 Rue Royale. There, David Martin’s restaurant will continue to serve cuisine that celebrates its Belgian roots while remaining open to influences from around the world.

This is your last chance to experience the historic location before discovering the new version of this Brussels institution.
