An exceptional vol-au-vent at the Pierre Bleue: the new star of Brussels
The best vol-au-vent in Brussels has just been voted, and this year’s winner is the restaurant La Pierre Bleue. Located right in the heart of the city, this warm and welcoming venue has won over both the public and a demanding panel of judges. The secret to their success? An authentic recipe, crispy puff pastry, tender chicken and a creamy sauce, all accompanied by golden fries and tasty dumplings. The price of this vol-au-vent? €26.50: a price that reflects the quality of the products and the savoir-faire of chef Alain, assisted by Christophe.
The curious may be wondering how this competition came about. Thanks to an innovative QR code voting system, Bruxellois and visitors alike were able to give their opinion. As a result, the winners are even more representative of local tastes. The competition, organized by BXLove, brought together 20 restaurants. Among them were local institutions such as Lola and the Belga Queen.
If you like traditional dishes revisited, don’t miss this address. La Pierre Bleue isn’t the only one to shine: The Brasserie and Le Roy d’Espagne complete the podium, while Le Corbier received the “coup de coeur” for its fries. However, it’s the Pierre Bleue version that is the unanimous winner this year.
After the best carbonnade and best vol-au-vent competitions, we can’t wait to discover the next BXLove event to showcase Belgian cuisine.
