A new spot has just joined the small galaxy of Brussels cafés. Located on Rue d’Arenberg, just a few steps from the Grand-Place and the Galeries Royales, Reason Café has just opened its doors with the aim of offering a place where you can come to enjoy a cup of coffee or simply take your time.
A new spot right in the heart of the city
Some spots have chosen their neighborhood with a touch of mischief. Reason has just set up shop at 2 Rue d’Arenberg, right across from the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert. From inside the café, the famous glass roofs become part of the scenery: it’s hard to imagine a more quintessentially Brussels location for a new café.
And best of all, you don’t have to wait for the weekend to check out this new spot: Reason is open every day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Perfect for a morning stop before heading to the office, a break between shopping trips downtown, or simply settling in to watch Brussels go by behind the large glass walls.
Coffee, matcha, and drinks that stand out from the crowd
But it’s the drink menu that really catches the eye. Reason offers coffee, of course, but also matcha, cold-pressed juices, protein smoothies, and a whole range of specialty drinks. The spot is also tapping into the trend of so-called “functional” beverages, with options that can be customized with additions like collagen or electrolytes.
In other words, whether you’re in the mood for a classic latte, a colorful matcha, or a refreshing drink to sip while strolling through the city center, the menu seems designed to offer endless possibilities. And with its location right at the foot of the Galeries, Reason can easily become a stop between shopping trips, a cultural visit, or a stroll through the historic center.
A café that also welcomes creative types
Reason is also beginning to reach out to a creative clientele. A Readymag workshop dedicated to creating portfolios is scheduled at the café on Thursday, October 29, at 6:30 p.m. Organized by Zisan Deniz, the event is aimed particularly at design students and creative professionals. Participation is free, and each participant will receive a drink of their choice; the workshop will be conducted in English.
This initiative already offers a glimpse of the possibilities this new spot has to offer: you can pop in just for a coffee or a matcha, or gather there for an event. Reason is still brand-new, but with its very central location and a menu that’s particularly focused on trendy drinks, the coffee shop is already starting to make a name for itself on the Brussels scene.
